Job Description

The Hillman Group Canada is looking for a Transportation Business Analyst in our Head Office located in Toronto, Ontario. This role will work closely with all departments mainly the Warehouse and Customer Service to facilitate the timely delivery of orders. The candidate will be responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of all outbound transportation to ensure optimal service for deliveries at the best possible cost. This will include all aspects of outbound freight. This role is an in-office position working a standard schedule. Hillman Canada has many benefits and is a great place to work!


Areas of Focus

  • Work with IT teams to develop and implement technology solutions to support business goals and requirements.
  • Enforce any policies or safety rules related to outbound transportation & dock management
  • Conduct process analyses to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Work on special projects where transportation is a key stakeholder
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify business requirements and goals.
  • Leads and manages RFP process and onboarding/communication of new carriers
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support data-driven insights and decision-making.
  • Ensure that carriers/operations provide accurate paperwork for all outbound shipments.
  • Will drive any process changes to improve overall flow of communication & work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project management, testing, and implementation.
  • Compiles Monthly/Quarterly Transportation KPI reports for internal/external stakeholders and communicates results accordingly.
  • Liaise with Operations, QA and Sales team to identify outbound requirements (POD’s, track/trace and expedite)
  • Improve current transit times while driving overall cost down
  • Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives as it relates to outbound freight
  • Conduct training and support for end-users on business processes and systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Ensure all the corrective actions are taken including reporting to dispatch repairs needed and drivers involved.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation and warehouse operations to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Schedule all daily pick up requests and manages any freight claims.


Role Requirements

  • Experience with WMS, ERP, and TMS systems an asset
  • Transportation and regulatory knowledge.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain business relations.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, resourceful, and self-reliant.
  • Must be a team player, able to work under pressure, meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel – intermediate) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Transportation.
  • Completed College Diploma.
