Job Description

Who we are

In the past, to be a successful restaurateur, you simply had to have a passion for food and a passion for people - but to succeed as a digital restaurateur you also need a passion for technology. We believe in the joy of serving others, and that's why we created Otter – to help restaurateurs succeed in online food delivery. Restaurants around the world, both large and small, including Chick-fil-A, Ben & Jerry’s, KFC, and Eataly trust our software to power their delivery business. We increase sales, reduce order issues, and decrease delivery headaches. Here is a peek into how it works.

What you’ll do

We are seeking an action oriented, creative and collaborative individual to join our rapidly growing Enablement team. In this position, you will be responsible for creating content (training, internal knowledge management, and external customer knowledge) and facilitating on-boarding sessions.

This individual will work closely with Enablement leads, as well as collaborate cross functionally with subject matter experts to create, implement, and deliver innovative job support materials.

The primary goal is to provide front-line support specialists with the knowledge, tools, and skills that they need to optimize their performance at work while also providing top-of-the-line customer support. The right person for this role will have strong storytelling capabilities with plenty of creativity and a passion for employee development with formal training in adult learning to back it up.

Training

  • Deliver engaging role-based training focused on equipping support specialists with the knowledge and skills needed to excel at their jobs.
  • Administrative support and management of all on-boarding classes through our internal LMS (Learning Management System)
  • Create a comprehensive Training Needs Assessment for all tiers that fall under support operations, updated annually as new divisional goals are created/updated.
  • Act as primary contact for every aspect of onboarding/training while maintaining strong rapport with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Use adult learning principles to determine the best methodology of learning (in-person learning, virtual learning, peer to peer learning, online/e-learning, blended learning etc.)

Content Writing

  • Identifying and addressing knowledge gaps and developing content to build knowledge expertise across support functions.
  • Utilizing content management best practices (which include encouraging content sharing among employees, establishing a centralized content repository, maintaining an up-to-date content base, and continuously improving content management processes).

What we’re looking for

  • University degree in a related discipline (e.g. Adult Education, Organization Development, Educational Technologies, Instructional Design, and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
  • 5 years in a L&D/Enablement position developing support content and delivering training.
  • Strong knowledge in the use of computer applications, such as Zendesk, SharePoint, and good understanding of LMS applications/software
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with knowledge in data analysis techniques

Why join us

  • Career development: We set you up for success with a 30-day hands-on training program to equip you with all of the skills you’ll need to succeed in sales. You’ll continuously learn about the market and industry trends.
  • Changing the restaurant industry: You’ll be part of a team that helps restaurants succeed in online food delivery.
  • Impactful work: You’ll own the full sales cycle from the first point of contact to closing the deal. With challenging targets, you’ll be able to push yourself, make an impact in the industry, and help restaurants succeed.
  • Collaborative environment: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow and achieve your goals, and you’ll work closely with other teams to ensure our customer’s success.
  • Growing market: You’ll be focused on an $80 billion market that’s projected to reach at least $500 billion by 2030 in the US alone.

What else you need to know

This role will be based in either our Toronto or LA office location. We believe that people do their best work when they are together. As a company, we’re in the marketplace of ideas and innovation. When you’re constantly innovating, changing how an industry works, inventing new products and processes - and we are doing all these things - we believe we’re better as a team in-person. That’s why all of our teams (except for our field-based roles) are now working from one of our office locations 5 days a week.. Looking forward to sharing more about a Career of Substance at Otter.

Join us as we serve those who serve others.
