Technical Project Manager (Ai/Ml)

PrecisionIT is seeking a Technical IT Project Manager for a long-term contract role with our mining/industrial client.

TERM:

6 months to a year, with potential for extension.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hybrid or Remote, + some travel within Canada and US (1 week every month or two).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels, including mining operations personnel, corporate staff, and executives, to understand project requirements, align expectations, and ensure seamless solution implementations.

• Utilize project management best practices based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and Agile Product Development frameworks to plan, execute, monitor, and control projects effectively.

• Lead and manage cross-functional project teams to ensure project goals are met within scope, budget, and schedule constraints.

• Apply a consulting mindset to provide expert guidance, problem-solving, and support throughout the project lifecycle.

• Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential obstacles.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing within the project teams and across the organization.

• Remain up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Project Management

• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, preferably in a consulting environment.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure and custom(software/hardware) development projects.

• Ability to run multiple projects concurrently and prioritize your time efficiently.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and present to diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and instructions to non-technical stakeholders involved in the installation process.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.

Solution Design

• Proven ability to lead solution design conversations, collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop innovative and effective solutions.

• Ability to navigate complex technical landscapes, making informed decisions while considering the expertise and input of various stakeholders.

• Implementation Leadership

• Strong problem-solving skills to address unforeseen challenges during the hardware installation process.

• Demonstrated ability to lead the documentation and design process for installing hardware in the field.

Industry Experience

• Experience working in both field (Mining, Industrial) as well as corporate office settings, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of each.

Miscellaneous

• Willingness and ability to travel to various locations in Canada and the United States, with sufficient notice provided to accommodate family and personal commitments. (MUST BE A CANADIAN CITIZEN)

DESIRABLE/ASSETS:

• PMI or Prince2 Certification.

• Agile Project Management and/or SCRUM Master training.

• Knowledge or experience with ML (Machine Learning) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies
