Job Description
TECHNICAL COORDINATOR - TECHNICAL SERVICES - ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
JOB OPENING: temporarily position (6 months)
NATURE OF THE WORK
Under the authority of the Head of Engineering Division, the incumbent of this post has various responsibilities of a technical nature in the field of contract management, traffic and telecommunications. The incumbent carries out various tasks relating to the establishment and control of the budgets of the various projects under his or her responsibility. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing and processing requests and complaints concerning the components under his or her responsibility, as well as the application of various regulations. The incumbent enjoys a certain autonomy of action and must show initiative in the research to be carried out and in the development of the files entrusted to him or her; he or she conducts various studies, writes reports and coordinates certain activities governing the components under his or her responsibility.
Responsabilities
Shares responsibility for traffic, telecommunications and contract management with the other incumbent of this position.
Drafts tender documents for contracts related to the components under his or her responsibility and other municipal contracts (maintenance of infrastructures, green spaces, sports fields, purchase of vehicles and various equipment, etc.).
Participates in the preparation of budgets and sees to the control of expenditures related to the various projects under his or her responsibility.
Writes various reports and estimates.
Manages the contracts under his or her responsibility and supervises the work if necessary.
Analyzes and processes requests and complaints concerning the components under his or her responsibility.
Ensures the implementation of the regulations governing the components under his or her responsibility.
Carries out various studies concerning the components under its responsibility.
Writes the reports required for the various claims.
Track billing accounts to a third party.
Coordinates the logistics of eviction activities.
Coordinates various files and special projects at management's request.
Guides and directs junior employees in the performance of work related to the nature of the job and verifies its quality.
Performs all other related duties.
Requirements And Qualifications
Hold a specialized college diploma (DEC), appropriate sector and profile.
Possess two (2) years of experience in a job allowing the incumbent to become familiar with the field of employment.
Good Knowledge
  • Word and Excel software;
  • Relevant municipal by-laws and their application;
  • French and English* languages;
  • The drafting of specifications;
  • Specialized software related to this field;
  • Knowledge of English is a requirement due to potential interactions with the Town's citizens.
  • Current municipal parking policies and practices;
  • Techniques related to traffic safety;
  • Estimating and evaluating the cost of work.
Skills Or Abilities
  • Have a highly developed sense of customer service;
  • Demonstrate a good sense of synthesis and analysis;
  • Ability to carry out several mandates simultaneously;
  • Ability to develop and exercise certain controls and follow-ups;
  • Write clear and concise reports.
  • Organizational skills and ability to set priorities;
The salary is between $36.02 and $47.09 per hour.
The working summer schedule is from Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
