We have an opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Assistant to join the team! This is a fantastic role if you are looking to launch your HR career in a large complex organization. The Talent Acquisition Assistant supports the Talent Acquisition team in the employment process by completing reference checks and other verifications for external hires, administering testing to applicants, maintaining record of advertising expenditures and assisting with the organization of job fairs and career days.

This is a temporary position for a 6 month duration with an option of a hybrid remote/on-site position.

As a Talent Acquisition Assistant working with VCH you will

• Interact and communicate with staff, managers and the public on matters such as advertised and posted positions, employment opportunities, application procedures, salary and timekeeping problems and written and verbal reference requests.
• Provide support for the recruitment team by completing reference checks and required pre-employment testing.
• Assist with the preparation of position vacancy bulletins and job postings and forwards appropriate information to appropriate managers.

Education And Experience

• Completed a recognized diploma in Human Resources Management and one (1) year of related experience.

• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office (e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.,) and database programs.

Knowledge And Abilities

• Employs expertise in the use of desktop computer applications for such things as creating databases to store information and preparing general and specialized reports and projects.
• Effectively utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when obtaining and providing information and communicating electronically, verbally and in written format.
• Applies excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and maintains customer relations.
• Practices diligence and care when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and budget information.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
