The Opportunity:
The Supply Chain Manager will champion a wide scope role, overseeing a team of people and leading all things Demand Planning, Forecasting, S&OP planning, Logistics, and Procurement. Core focus will be on product flow from Production to Delivery by accurately forecasting demand, efficiently managing inventory, and strategically planning the supply chain.
With a heavy emphasis on Planning, Forecasting, and S&OP, best practices and new systems and tools are being implemented. This role is made for someone who would thrive on the challenge to have a major impact and champion the growth and expansion of this function for the business.
The Supply Chain Manager position is an onsite full-time role and will be based out of our Bolton, Caledon facility (15 min north of Brampton / Vaughan)
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
· Demand Forecasting: Analyze, utilize data with market trends, and review customer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts. Collaborate with sales and production teams to align on demand projections and optimize resource allocation.
· Inventory Management: Lead efforts to maintain optimal inventory levels across locations and implement efficient inventory control strategies to balance product availability and cost-effectiveness.
· Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and execute all supply chain strategies encompassing of procurement, production, logistics, and distribution. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
· Production Planning: Coordinate with production teams to create efficient production schedules aligned with demand forecasts. Monitor production progress and make real-time adjustments to meet customer needs.
· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks, including supply shortages, production delays, transportation issues, and implement contingency plans to maintain business continuity.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align supply chain plans with business goals whilst fostering effective communication between sales, finance, and operations to optimize resource utilization.
· Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data-driven insights to track KPIs related to demand planning and supply chain operations; generate regular reports to inform decision-making and support continuous improvement.
· Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance demand forecasting accuracy, streamline processes, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory turnover. Actively seek out opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify cost saving initiatives.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Experience managing and improving supply chain data, information, and processes.
- Experience with the use of ERP systems and MS Dynamics
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or related field.
- Ability to independently lead and co-ordinate multi-locational projects.
- Adaptable to change and transformation.
- Attention to detail, fast learner, and quick thinker.
- 7 - 10 years’ proven working experience in logistics/supply chain/production planning.
