Supplier Quality Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Sr. Manager


This position reports into the Quality Category Leader (Chemicals and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) and is based in- Guelph (Canada), with consideration for candidates in Sao Jose dos Campos (Brazil), Val De Reuil (France), Skillman (United States of America), London (United Kingdom), Singapore Training Center (Singapore) and remote candidates.

The Supplier Quality Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Sr. Manager, within Global Supplier Quality CoE, will have responsibility for providing strategic quality direction to the API Category including both Commodity APIs and Non-Commodity APIs manufactured at Global Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).


This new role provides an exciting opportunity to develop a new capability within Kenvue, leading the initiative to incorporate Non-Commodity APIs manufactured from CMOs into the Kenvue Supplier Quality Management Program. This will require the Sr. Management to collaborate with a cross functional team of Senior Leaders to expand the current Supplier Quality Management Program to include Non-Commodity APIs.


The successful candidate will be the responsible for implementing the Supplier Life Cycle Management process including-


  • Negotiating Quality Agreements
  • Perform necessary audits of the CMO and their suppliers.
  • Quality Support for Change Management processes at the CMO
  • Quality review and approval of Non-Conformances at the CMO, and


Key Responsibilities-


  • Negotiating Quality Agreements
  • Perform necessary audits of the CMO and their suppliers.
  • Quality review and approval of Non-Conformances at the CMO
  • Develop tools, and training modules for emerging capabilities
  • Lead the Performance activities for the API Category
  • Define and Execute End to End governance process for continuous improvements
  • Responsible for Supplier Life Cycle Management process for these Non-Commodity API Suppliers including-
  • Develop and maintain API metrics (quality and performance)
  • Development and deployment of API Supplier Reliability Strategy and Roadmap through collaboration with key Supply Chain and Category Stakeholders, which will align to Consumer Q&C Strategic priorities. The API Supplier Strategy applies to both Commodity and Non-Commodity APIs.
  • Evaluate all existing initiatives, to generate insights for performance optimization across the Regions
  • Contribute to developing an innovative and efficient real time continuous improvements across the suppliers’ network
  • Incorporate Non-Commodity APIs manufactured from Global CMO into the Kenvue Supplier Quality Management Program.
  • Anticipate business trends, via industry benchmarking, proactively address the capabilities gaps
  • Quality Support for Change Management processes at the CMO


Education, Experience and Skills-


Required Qualifications


  • Able to motivate teams without direct line of leadership and hold individuals accountable for program deliverables.
  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a highly regulated healthcare industry required; Pharmaceutical, API Manufacturer
  • Bachelor’s Degree / University degree required, with preference in Organic Chemistry
  • Experience managing diverse teams in a direct, indirect, and matrixed environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills
  • A minimum of 5+ years proven experience on Suppliers Management and continuous improvement initiatives


Desired Qualifications-


  • Experience managing process improvements
  • Experience leading a large-scale program
  • Knowledge / experience in process harmonization and change management in a regulated environment
  • Advanced Degree in Organic Chemistry
