Job Description

Position Summary


Coordinate all CAM shutdown activities in alignment with the Client Turnaround Methodology while ensuring that CAM Corporate, Union and governmental requirements are met.


Core Responsibilities


  • Develop format for pre-turnaround foreman’s meeting and general kick-off meeting.
  • Establish a schedule for support groups; valve shop; fueling; breathing air; laundry service; nomex supply; etc.
  • Maintain a daily diary and a TA critique to suggest improvements for next turnaround.
  • Treat all employees with respect and in a professional manner. Be fair and consistent, and leave personalities out of the business decisions.
  • Develop and manage a consecutive days worked schedule for all CAM turnaround employees.
  • Manage layoffs; retaining the most trained and effective people.
  • Advise teams on themostefficient ways to establish shifts which minimizes costs and enhances productivity.
  • Assist or develop an overtime meal process that includes a schedule for all CAM people.
  • Review tool expectations with toolcribs and suppliers.
  • Ensure you and your supervisor review all responsibilities, expectations and required reports prior to the commencement of the job.
  • Establish foreman guidelines and expectations regarding safety process; quality workmanship; productivity.This can differ from the long term guidelines as we are primarily using a short term work force.
  • Communicate/educate the injury reporting system along with CAM follow-up expectations and reporting responsibilities.
  • Coordinate all off site hiring and establish pathway to indoctrination process.
  • Educate turnaround foreman on the Planning and Scheduling Process; up-dating manuals; add-on processes; Other items such as; material withdrawal; basic job flow.
  • Establish a pathway to the existing process to down size people when the need arises.
  • Educate and promote people to follow the Client; CAM; & Government procedures.
  • Establish a schedule for training requirements: breathing air; CSE guarding; fork-truck operation; JLG operation; fit testing; etc.
  • Assist to establish a safety meeting schedule that communicates statistical data; audit results; near miss reports; and a system to address new concerns.
  • Develop a meeting schedule for all contractors and the Client to support good communications of expectations and issues to address.
  • Promote, insist, and confirm compliance that all employees complete a hazard analysis before starting each job.
  • Assist people who require participation in personal assistance programs provided by CAM; government or union agencies.
  • Establish welfare areas for all CAM people and other contractors if applicable.
  • Promote positive recognition systems among foreman.
  • Develop role descriptions as required by the TA group for any positions that do not already have one.
  • Establish shift schedules and assign people.
  • Establish and manage a CAM evaluation process for short term people (< 3 months) to identify specific abilities regarding safety; quality and productivity; for possible future requirements.
  • Coach craft foreman on CAM hourly payroll systems.
  • Communicate the Target Zero concept to all turnaround people which includes Near Miss reporting; audits; and personal safety attitudes.
  • Manage all progressive discipline actions and follow up documentation for all CAM turnaround people.
  • Participate in the turnaround audit program and develop a schedule for CAM turnaround foreman.
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of turnarounds and shutdowns (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
  • Educational and experience include: Technical training and/or related experience with a minimum of six years construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar construction facility.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.
