Steel Sales/Buyer

- Outside sales (Western Saskatchewan) –

As Steel Sales/Buyer, you will:


▪ Plan, organize and schedule meetings with customers/potential customers (approx. 5 to 8 per day) to assess and present quotes to purchase scrap metal. Ensure customers have a great experience.


▪ Receive daily leads from the office, obtain customer referrals, follow up on leads and distribute marketing material.

▪ Demonstrate a professional and outgoing personality when meeting and building relationships with customers from various industries including agriculture, oil & gas, landfill, railway and related industries.


▪ Travel within an assigned Saskatchewan territory by road, be willing to work a flexible schedule of 10 – 14 hours/day and drive 500+ km per day.

a) Home each weekend with every second Friday off.

b) ­The territory for this role is western Saskatchewan, focusing west of Highway #4, covering the south to north; this may change depending on business needs.


▪ Enter data and relay information to the office on a daily, timely and accurate basis. Ensure company policies and systems are followed at all times.


▪ Manage your time effectively and be motivated to increase sales, have fun and stay ahead of the recycling cleanup crews.


Must have a Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving abstract.


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:


▪ Related sales training is an asset.

▪ 3+ years of sales experience. Experience in the agricultural field is an asset.

▪ Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook

▪ Highly organized independent worker who enjoys sales and travel time spent on the road. Physically fit and willing to work long hours to meet 5 to 8 customers per day as well as achieve sales targets.

▪ Enthusiastic, outgoing, self starter with strong work ethics and pride in a job well done. You aren’t afraid of working long hours and take great pride in making sure your customer has a great experience in dealing with you.


Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, flexible schedule, 10 to 14 hours a day.

Home for weekends by Friday at 5:00, with every second Friday off.


Remuneration:

  • Paid hourly (range is $24-28.00/hour) + overtime + commission + eligible for bonus payments, including bonus for own leads. Comprehensive benefit plan.
  • Based on hours worked and overtime, estimated annual salary is ~$100,000. Plus based on performance, commission/bonus structure, estimated annual salary is $120,000-150,000 per annum.
