The John Rolfe Family YMCA is looking for a part time, enthusiastic STEM Program Specialist (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to help run our STEM programing (Lego Robotics, STEAMpower, Specialist Camps)! This part time position starts at $13.00 per hour.
DUTIES of a STEM Program Specialist
The STEM Program involves basic engineering and math related principles, so having some type of experience in the subject would be ideal, but not required. Applicants must be able to keep the children in the program engaged and have experience being interactive!
QUALIFICATIONS Of a STEM Program Specialist
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and must have at least 2 years of experience and the ability to assess and teach according to the participant's ability. Ability to instruct school age children in basic skills. Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures. Must have the visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents. Some college level courses and First Aid, CPR and AED certifications are highly desirable.
