Robert Half is looking to fill the vacant position of a Staff Accountant for an industry-leading organization with a growing team. As the Staff Accountant you will be responsible for assisting with financial operations within the organization, maintaining accurate financial records, performing accounting tasks, and support the overall financial management process. This permanent role is for an Staff Accountant in the Guelph, Ontario, area.
Your responsibilities in this role

• Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
• Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams and departments to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Record and classify financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide support during external audits and assist in the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Participate in the development and improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.

Requirements
Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience required
• Proficiency in using accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Payroll processing
• Degree or diploma in accounting or finance
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and general ledger functions.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
