We are currently looking for a Specialist, Marketing Communications to join our team in Mississauga, ON.
This role will be responsible for leading and driving forward the Social Media Program for Nissan while supporting the brand marketing communications strategy nationally, performing key tasks toward the production of multi-channel advertising campaigns and assisting with the budget management process.
Job functions Include but are not limited to:
  • Evaluate social media workflows and channel organization for efficiency and optimal customer experience.
  • Liaise internally with other Marketing functions and business units to develop monthly content strategies.
  • Work with the Community Managers at the Agencies of Record on daily content posting, conversation monitoring, and community responses.
  • Manage Nissan’s Google Review improvement strategy and semi-weekly response process with Customer Care and Nissan Canada Finance.
  • Perform competitive and cross-market analysis and benchmarking, and ongoing social media performance reporting and insights.
  • Social Media Support - Oversee the day-to-day management of Nissan’s social media channels and lead program enhancements: 40%
  • Work with the Planner on the team to establish opportunities for asset development based on social insights and trends.
  • Coordinate the execution of brand advertising campaigns with the Planner and Senior Planner on the team, and Agency of Record (print, DOOH, POS).
  • Work closely with French Agency and translation vendors on French deliverables as required.
  • Advertising Campaign Support - Support the development & implementation of national brand advertising campaigns for new and existing models: 25%
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders for input and approvals to content and messaging (i.e. link with Product Team to maintain RTBs documentation).
  • Assist with the coordination of vehicle logistics for production and/or event sponsorship activity.
  • Participate in weekly status meetings and quarterly campaign performance reviews with agency partners.
  • Assisting in the development of dealer bulletins and presentation slides.
  • Special project/task support, as requested by Planner, Senior Planner and Manager (i.e. lead small projects from A to Z, incl. post- project surveys, with the Planner supervision)
  • Ad-hoc Team Support – Supporting other functions of the Brand Marketing team: 25%
  • Create semi-weekly estimate summary sheets for Director’s review.
  • Financial Support – Submitting budget requests and reporting: 10%
  • Develop documentation for project cost approvals (i.e. PO tracking)
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge: This position requires a post-secondary diploma with a focus on marketing communications and or equivalent related business experience. 1 to 3 years in a marketing, communications or advertising role is required. Previous automotive experience is preferred. Bilingualism (French English – spoken/written) is a strong asset. Must be able to work independently, deal with multiple tasks/deadlines and able to change priorities when required. Excellent communication skills (written/verbal); strong customer service ethic.
Interpersonal Skills: The incumbent of this position is required to communicate effectively with managers, co-workers, dealers, agencies and vendors. Exchange information with diplomacy when working with other personnel. Effective listening skills, good conflict resolution and presentation preparation skills and the ability to present information with diplomacy is also required.
Complexity and Problem-Solving: This position requires the ability to oversee multi-faceted projects in a short period. The ability to be solutions-driven and show initiative is critical.
Physical and Sensory Demands: This position entails a moderate degree of sensory effort (i.e. concentration when proofing materials or summarizing estimates, acquiring detailed information via telephone, emails, and presentations); there is moderate physical effort (i.e. Walking and climbing stairs, inspecting vehicles, etc.).
Decision-making/Impact of the Position: This position holds a level of responsibility (i.e. ensuring accuracy in social content and responses), which may have a negative impact on the business in terms of image, dealer relations and also impact budget and cash flow if incorrect information is approved.
People Management: At times the incumbent may be required to lead supporting functions internally and externally with the support of the Planner, Senior Planner, and/or Manager.
