GoVeyance (and ReadyWhen) is a subsidiary of ReadyWhen Tech Inc., dedicated to providing innovative digital solutions to the legal, wealth, and insurance verticals. We have created performant, secure, and extensible platforms that enable seamless experiences for our users. The engineering team works on both products, but this role will have a focus on GoVeyance as we are trying to scale the product after the success we have already seen.

We are a fully remote company but believe in the power of local talent. We seek a Software Engineer - Platform located in the Vancouver region to join our dynamic team. As a Software Engineer at ReadyWhen Tech Inc., you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the platform components that power our core product features. You will work closely with our talented team to build scalable applications in a cloud environment, following industry best practices in engineering, security, and design.

Job Details:

As a Software Engineer - Platform at ReadyWhen, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the platform components that power our core product features. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will work closely with a talented team of engineers to build a performant, secure, and extensible platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, both independently and in collaboration with the team.
• Writing unit and integration tests for your code to ensure its quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
• Following best practices in engineering, security, and design to maintain a high standard of quality throughout the development process.
• Developing and maintaining platform components that enable our core product features, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and efficient.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Keeping up to date with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our platform and development processes.
• Participating in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level development with a focus on API applications.
• Deep understanding of relational databases and proficiency with SQL.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams to continuously improve our product.
• Experience building scalable applications in a cloud environment, with familiarity in AWS and its underlying services considered a plus.
• Great communication skills, working collaboratively with team members to continuously improve our product.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, demonstrating your ability to build scalable and efficient solutions.
• Education in Computer Science or equivalent education/development experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities, with a passion for solving complex challenges.

Bonus Points:

In addition to the required skills, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior team members.
• Experience with React.js and CSS, indicating proficiency in front-end technologies.
• Experience integrating third-party SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) APIs, demonstrating versatility in working with external services.
• Passion for conveyancing or previous experience in the real estate industry.
• Proven adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies and approaches.
