Site Buyer Jobs

Zekelman Industries is searching for a charismatic, self-motivated Site Buyer, Indirect Services & Jobsite Support to work for our Z-Modular division in Kitchener, ON. The primary responsibility of the Site Buyer, Indirect Services & Jobsite Support is to manage the end to end process of setting up subcontracts and executing payments on-time to vendors support plant and jobsite teams. The buyer will research, evaluate, and purchase products & services to meet our operational requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determine the correct method to process purchase requisitions depending on total cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, and existing contracts
• Work directly with vendors to communicate orders and maintain payment schedules
• Ensure subcontractors and service-based vendors are setup in the ERP system for payment, create POs for service-based contracts, and work with Project Manager team to pay key subcontractors / vendors on-time
• Resolve invoice issues and maintain open order reports on a weekly basis
• Maintain close communication with Project Managers ensuring payments are made on-time and are accurate to the budgeted value
• Source, quote, and purchase indirect services and supplies to support a fast-moving modular construction environment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
• Immediately report suspected security incidents and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

• Remain in stationary position for the majority of the day.

• Occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
• Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Ability to lift up to 10lbs

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Previous exposure to SAP and/or similar ERP procurement platforms preferred
• Previous experience purchasing indirect services or jobsite experience desired
• Ability to work with Z-Modular’s team across the country
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, Preferably in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Distribution, or related area of study
