Summary Of Duties


Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager or Program Supervisor, the Shelter Services Advocate is responsible for promoting an environment that provides participants a sense of empowerment, improves their well-being, and increases their ability to live safely and independently. The Shelter Services Advocate is primarily responsible for ensuring that participants' basic needs are met, i.e., they have food, clothing and shelter, and that they are safe and supported while in the shelter program. Provides Trauma-Informed engagement and services to all participants, where the focus is on building healthy relationships and utilizing the healthy relationships to empower participants and help them to heal from their trauma.


Education And Training Requirements
  • High school, plus additional courses or specialized training at business or community college, or other formal training facility or program. Requires ability to understand and carry out assigned duties effectively.
  • Other (Specify): Minimum a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of work experience in the domestic violence field or with a related target group and children. Two (2) years of work experience is preferred. Experience in working with adults and children who have been exposed to domestic violence, or related group required.


Experience


  • Over one year, up to and including two years.

Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) is a Crown corporation responsible for arranging supports and services for adults with developmental disabilities and their families. CLBC staff strive to advance the vision of Communities of belonging, lives with connection.


The Role


As a Senior .Net Developer at CLBC, you will assist with the design and development of new and existing CLBC business systems, as well as provide technical analysis and programming for IT business solutions and for interfaces to other systems used by internal and external clients.


Responsibilities Include


  • Recommends integrated solution designs for CLBC business systems integration
  • Developing application interfaces for diverse and complex systems, technical templates and user interfaces.
  • Constructs design documentation
  • Problem-solving to resolve technical and business process problems related to applications (Tier 3 Support)
  • Providing expertise in the development and implementation of CLBC business systems and ensure that development methods are consistent with the technical directions and business strategies determined by the organization
  • Works with the Enterprise architect on the design of the overall solution
  • Provide Tier 3 support for production-related issues
  • Following appropriate change management methodologies to ensure that published content is appropriate, accurate, timely, and falls within standards.
  • Developing, enhancing and maintaining existing applications and interfaces


Competency Is Required In Most Of The Following


C+, .NET, SSIS, Oracle DB (PL-SQL), SVN, Active Directory, XML, Powershell, IIS, SQL Server DB (T-SQL), Delphi, Sharepoint, CSS, Javascript, HTML, Powerdesigner, Toad, Visual Studio


Qualifications


  • Experience in systems analysis, software development and production support
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Management or Management Information Systems and 5 years related experience; or a diploma in Information Technology with 10 years related experience; or other relevant equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered
  • Demonstrated familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle

Classification/Salary: Info Systems R27 / Position starts at $80,652 annually, plus a 9.9% bi-weekly market adjustment
