Service Technician Jobs

Point8 Power Systems is looking for motivated, experienced and dedicated reciprocating engine generator technicians!

We are a forward thinking equipment company focused on combined heat & power (CHP), prime power generators & gas turbine energy production.

This role is primarily for the service of existing service contracts around Northern & Southern Alberta.

Future growth or cross training into rotating equipment (gas turbine/steam turbine) is available for the right candidates!

Generator Technician Responsibilities:

• Maintenance/Inspections/Service include consumables, starter systems, batteries, charging equipment, engines, control panels, automatic transfer switches, cooling systems etc.
• Generator system maintenance, testing and inspecting electrical supply for O&G sites as well as commercial/industrial buildings for all makes and models
• Testing includes verifying entire system – simulating a failure of normal electrical supply, full load tests
• On site solutions of repairs and service to all engine/generator components, providing emergency service as required

Generator Technician Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of generator mechanical and electrical systems
• Able to attend early morning maintenance calls, overtime and weekends
• Available for after hours On-call rotation for emergency service (negotiable)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Alberta drivers’ license in good standing

Qualifications:

HET/Electrician Journeyperson

RSE &/or HET is preferred

Apprentice is available for the right candidate.

Valid AB drivers license

Experience in the repair and maintenance of gensets, generators, diesel engines, electrical and/or mechanical equipment
