We are now looking for an experienced and hands on Service Engineer to join our Team in Canada. The Service Engineer conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge related to electrical/electronic, and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions. Uses skills in restoring equipment to operation. The service engineer provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Consilium procedures and products.
In this position you will troubleshoot, repair, and commission mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment. Your duties also include to plan and perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic, mechanical theories and principles as well as operation and application of electronic equipment. You will install, start up, and shut down equipment following company safety procedures for machine activation and shut down, in line with OSHA requirements and advise operators of procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components. Furthermore, you will identify, and source all parts and test equipment required to repair electrical/electronic equipment and maintain, in a timely manner, company required CRM procedures for all service-related cases, NCRs, FAQs and any other methods as instructed. In addition, you provide accurate technical support and coordination to the service manager, service coordinators, sales team, and external customers in both written and verbal communication. You will also assist in training co-workers and external customers when needed and perform additional duties as required.
Who are we looking for?
You have obtained a bachelor’s degree or minimum three years of proven service experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields with three years of computer experience/operation or PLC programming. You have knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of unique instruments for diagnostic purposes. You are well familiar with international & local shipping rules and properties of various materials. Previous experience and ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment is preferred. You are well organized and able to learn and work well in a team. You are used to make accurate decisions, often under pressure, always with the costumer in mind. You operate efficiently and in the most economical way when arranging travel and lodging, always staying within the quoted amount and a pro-active attitude regarding safety. You contribute to accident prevention and safety awareness and keeps the workspace in a safe, clean and tidy condition. A valid drivers license and work permit is required for this position in Canada.
