About the opportunity:
The Sensory Scientist I execute sensory tests in the development of new products and/or renovation projects under supervision and guidance from the Sensory Manager or Supervisor. This position is responsible for supporting the sensory panels including recruitment, scheduling of panelists, leading panel training and evaluations, data analysis and reporting.
The attributes we are looking for:
· Conduct sensory tests in the development of new products, product renovations, packaging by using standard sensory methodology to provide results and formulate preliminary conclusions for finalization by the Sensory Manager or Supervisor
· Prepare and communicate a technical report based on the information collected from the entire process using various, and appropriate statistical tools
· Support the deployment of the Quality Product Process supporting plant trained panels and expert panels
· Support expert panels including panel recruitment, panel training and monitoring
· Manage, control, and schedule the panel sessions to achieve yearly objectives
· Statistically analyze sensory data, build necessary graphs and visualizations. Assemble standardized sensory reports.
· Support implementation and maintenance of plant trained panels to monitor the pillar products
· Communicate monthly and yearly assessments according to Lactalis template for expert panel
· Responsible to ensure Quality is fundamental in execution of all work activities and work in compliance to Lactalis Quality Systems (e.g., QSL document control program)
What you will bring:
· Relevant University degree or College diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; sensory science preferred
· Strong written and interpersonal/communication skills with internal and external sources for technical information
· Ability to organize and report results using a variety of computer applications (Excel, Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, Outlook), Compusense sensory data collection software considered a plus
· Good knowledge of statistics
