Job Description
Our Client who plays a vital role in Alberta's Energy Industry by ensuring public safety and the environment - and contributing to responsible, efficient, and safe energy development, has an immediate need for a Senior Workday Specialist. This is a contract position for six (6) months located in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.


Description


The Senior Workday Specialist will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR systems. This position will support ongoing process improvement activities to bring greater efficiency to PC&L as well as the entire company. This role will resolve system issues, provide day to day guidance and support to end users, lead software implementation projects, follows best practices and standards to develop technical solutions through the project lifecycle, including build, design, test, deployment, and sustainment activities.


Role Accountabilities


Provide day to day support to system operation, managing and leading BP review project to achieve greater efficiency to PC&L internal processes.


  • Remain up to date on product developments. (10%) functionalities and present to the end users. (30%).
  • Lead system enhancement initiatives and support mid-large enterprise projects, analyze technical requirements to develop, configure, and test new solutions in non-production system environments.
  • Evaluate and translate business objectives and user needs into clear technical requirements while ensuring security, end-user access, and data integrity across all platforms. (30%)
  • Develop prototypes and demos of new system features, modules, and review and analyze system functionality with the aim of providing recommendations for improvements, detailing any implemented changes.
  • Support day to day operations of the people system, solution queries and issues related to supported systems by analyzing the issue to identify the root cause and solving the issue directly or collaborate with appropriate SMEs/vendors for issue resolution.
  • Monitor the ticket queue jointly with the Workday ASM support vendor, manage ticket assignment, review vendor work and monitor vendor performance. (30%)
  • Provide comprehensive support to client groups to achieve resolution to outstanding problems or issues, and build roadmaps for future enhancement opportunities.


Qualifications


  • Ability to quickly build rapport and trust.
  • Advanced knowledge in Workday HCM core, Advanced Compensation, Finance Expense, Payroll, Time and Absence, Talent, Learning, Reporting, Integration, and Security is a requirement.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders, vendors, and project team members.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in Workday Ecosystem, minimum of 5 years of Workday Configuration experience (required).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate concepts effectively.
  • The ability to interpret and apply technical knowledge to translate into practical application.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Human Resource management.
  • Experienced in project management, change management, and human resources processes, systems, policies, and data. (required)
  • Workday Certificate or Workday Pro is required.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects.
  • Experience with the agile methodology & use of agile tools (is an asset)
  • Analytical, problem solving, project management and business planning skills.
  • Comfortable challenging organizational norms and accepted thinking to improve operational effectiveness.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong technical skills; expert level knowledge of Workday in all modules.
  • Integrate and balance work priorities, activities, and resources for the benefit of multiple key stakeholders.
  • High degree of integrity in dealing with sensitive information.
