Senior Warehouse Receiver Jobs

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Warehouse Receiver to join our team at a leading food distribution company. As a Senior Warehouse Receiver, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the accurate and efficient receipt and inspection of incoming food products, maintaining inventory integrity, and providing leadership to the receiving team

Position Expectations:

• Oversee and coordinate the receiving process, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of incoming shipments of food products.

• Conduct thorough visual and physical inspections of products, checking for damages, expiration dates, and proper packaging.

• Verify the accuracy of received items against accompanying documentation or electronic records, resolving any discrepancies or quality issues.

• Supervise and provide guidance to the receiving team, ensuring adherence to procedures, safety guidelines, and quality control standards.

• Collaborate with suppliers, drivers, and internal stakeholders to resolve receiving-related issues and ensure smooth operations.

• Document and maintain accurate records of received items, properly labeling and coding them in inventory management systems.

• Organize and allocate received items in designated storage areas, optimizing space utilization and ensuring proper handling and accessibility.

• Train and mentor new team members, providing them with necessary skills and knowledge for efficient receiving operations.

• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, including disposal of packaging materials and proper waste disposal.

• Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the receiving process.

• Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, such as inventory counts, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving.

Requirements:

• Several years of experience as a Warehouse Receiver or in a similar senior role within a food distribution or warehouse environment.

• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality control standards, and proper handling practices.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately inspect and verify incoming products.

• Proficiency in using inventory management systems or related technology to record and track received items.

• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items.

• Leadership skills and the ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve targets and maintain high-quality standards.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers, drivers, and internal stakeholders.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.

• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
