Senior Utilities Coordinator (Dry)

What you will undertake:
Reporting to the Utilities Construction Manager and/or Dry Utilities Lead, and along with a Superintendent, the Senior Utilities Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and management of the work on site to ensure the compliance of construction with the relocation drawings, specification, the Project Agreement and Health & Safety Requirement.
Role And Responsibilities

• Assists in the analytical review and evaluation of the costs/risks and decision to relocate or support/protect utilities
• Participate in negotiations with Utility Asset Owners for relocating/installing utilities affected/required by the projects construction;
• Participate in the development of contractual strategies to facilitate utility relocations and/or the integration of utility work into construction contracts.
• Contribute to the development of a construction plan and to manage subcontractor activities
• Coordinate and manage utility relocations as required
• Tracking and collection of documentation for extra work, submittals, and backup for billing purposes.
• Assists in the technical review of project designs with respect to utility related issues to ensure compliance with Utility Asset Owner and/or Utility Authority design criteria and applicable specifications and standards.
• Advises project staff of what issues require resolution within the construction contracts to ensure full coordination and compliance with standing agreements and/or standards with Utility Asset Owners.
• Supervise and coordinate field engineering and construction activities.
• Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and within budget.
• Participate/Lead meetings with internal and external design teams
• Tracking and documenting project schedule activity, start, finish, % complete and major milestones.
• Prepare detailed quantity take offs and cost estimates.
• Oversee SUE investigations and Condition Survey tasks
• Performs other related administrative or project-based duties as assigned.
• Attend meetings as required with Clients, Municipal Agencies and other Consultants.
• Provide technical review and assistance in the coordination of temporary or permanent relocations/installations of utilities including but not limited to: hydro (transmission and distribution), communication, and gas
• Assists in developing agreements with Utility Owners

Qualifications
What do we ask for?

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, experience with GIS and other digital tools would be an asset
• Minimum 8 years of Experience with preparing technical drawings and technical reports
• Dry Utilities experience, preferably on a large civil project
• University degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or similar field
