What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot experiments and identify abnormal or unexpected trends in data
• Produce, characterize and test nucleic acid LNP formulations to support new product development in different application areas
• Ensure that the necessary laboratory supplies are available and perform tasks related to support operation of the laboratory
• Responsible for designing and performing experiments with input from supervisor
• Support technical documentation for the tech transfer from product development to manufacturing
• Provide training on laboratory/product protocols to lab personnel as needed
• May be responsible for developing project plans to meet product requirements
• May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
• Collect and analyze experimental data, present data at meetings, provide conclusions and outline future plans
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project completion including providing support to Product Management, Manufacturing, and Operations

Who You Are

• Have a foundational understanding of cellular/biological systems; with techniques in cell and molecular biology, cell culture, and gene editing being highly desired
• Ability to organize and present technical summaries of scientific data
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) both in one-on-one and in a group setting
• At least 5 years lab-based work experience with a minimum of 2 years industry experience
• An understanding of lipid and polymer chemistry would be advantageous
• Must thrive in a dynamic team environment with parallel projects and deadlines
• Ability to independently design, conduct, analyze and troubleshoot experiments
• Experience developing nanoparticle formulations with a preference towards drug delivery would be advantageous
• Must be a resourceful and proactive and able to work with minimum supervision
• Not afraid to learn new skills and excited to implement novel techniques
• Masters (preferred) or Bachelors degree with equivalent experience in a relevant scientific discipline (ideally, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, nanotechnology or similar)
• Experience with a broad range of laboratory techniques. Key examples include: flow cytometry, gel electrophoresis, PCR, DNA sequencing, microscopy and DLS
• Finally, be interested and excited about genomic medicines and the tremendous potential LNPs hold for many disease areas
• Proven ability to apply critical and analytical thinking
