THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Product Engineering incumbent will use a Customer’s initial design or product specifications, the incumbent will be responsible for engineering, design, and develop a product or product system.

Key performance metrics of program profitability, timing, meeting customer deliverables, delivering optimal performing tools and equipment to manufacturing plants and meeting all APQP objectives will be how the Senior Product Engineer will find success at ABC Technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Develop working relationships within customer team members and is an integral part of the communications channel between ABC and the customer’s Design and Launch teams.
• Responsible for ensuring all APQP deliverables are met and all End Items products that ABC Technologies supplies, meets Customer specifications.
• Prepare Product/System reviews for customer Engineering/Purchasing.
• Prepare new Product Tooling Programs to assure all Molds, Secondaries and Capital equipment will meet corporate Standards, throughput, dimensional capability and fulfill all customer quality expectations.
• Lead Tooling trials and Sample preparation for Customer submissions.
• Assure that immediate Supervisor and others required, are continually and fully informed of all program related issues.
• Prepare Product and Process feasibility studies and all other documentation required supporting customer expectations.
• Create and or analyze and implement on-going process improvements to improve production efficiencies and product quality.
• Support on site/out of country programs as required for duration dictated by the program requirements.
• Create detailed product and tooling cost quotations in response to Customer inquiries to the Sales team.
• Support team in preparation for all PPAP requirements and deliverables to the customer
• Actively pursue and attain all necessary information required to accomplish job responsibilities.
• Design and Engineer new Products and Systems with design team. Support designs for release to the customer.
• Organize and manage the program team to fulfil customer requirements for CAD design, CAE, Product Validation, and technical presentations.
• Assist Quality and Production departments in troubleshooting and problem analysis in conjunction with any issues of quality or production efficiency.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Automotive and/or plastics experience
• Working knowledge of check gauges and measurement analysis
• Experience of the industry practices for Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Plastics Bonding and Assembly Processes for vehicle components
• Understanding in developing program lifecycle; from quote to production phase.
• Experience working with Ford, Stellantis, GM, Nissan, Mazda, and Hyundai/Kia along with their APQP process and systems.
• 6+ years of Project Engineering experience. Ideal candidates will exhibit experience leading teams through the APQP process in the development, execution and launch of Exterior products for Automotive Tier 1 suppliers or OEM customers.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
