Geotab is seeking a Senior Product Designer that will work with our P roduct Managers focused on a specific area of the MyGeotab ecosystem; Safety and Maintence . What You'll Do


The Senior Product Designer will build an understanding and empathy for customers and users. You will be responsible for end-to-end projects across MyGeotab and related products. This position is also responsible for product design as well as contributing to the product vision and roadmap, mentoring earlier stage designers, synthesizing data, advancing design across the company, and facilitating product and design conversations with senior leadership.


How You’ll Make An Impact


  • Mentor earlier stage designers across the design team; leveling up the team, helping to improve best practices, processes and tooling.
  • Collaborate with teams of designers, product managers, developers to prototype, test and ship the best products for customers.
  • Work closely with data scientists and user experience researchers to determine and plan the best methods and tools based on objectives and constraints.
  • Accountable for projects from start to finish, leading design initiatives such as planning, sketching, prototyping, and leading stakeholder reviews.
  • Synthesize data for data-informed product and design decision making; informing and identifying new product and feature opportunities.
  • Help build a high-functioning design team and culture; contributing to hiring processes, providing thoughtful feedback in design critiques, identifying internal and external opportunities to level up design at Geotab.


What You’ll Bring To This Role


  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead all aspects of the user-centered design process from conception to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of relevant industry experience
  • Communicate complex ideas, goals, and problems in a way that is accessible even to those unfamiliar with the project.
  • Experience collaborating closely with product management, engineering, and research.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of product design, including common interaction patterns used and associated trade-offs, and best practices for responsive web applications.
  • Proficiency in UI design and using tools like Figma, Sketch, InVision, Principle, etc.
  • Ability to develop high-level design strategy and vision.
  • Must have the flexibility to adapt to growing technology and market demands.
