Job Description
We’re looking for an IT Project Manager who can help the health sector in Alberta!


Working Condition: 100% remote


Estimated Contract Duration:


Start Date: 11-Sep-2023


End Date: 05-Sep-2025


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee projects documenting business needs and delivering compliant IT solutions aligned with Ministries' enterprise architecture.
  • Manage multiple projects, project resources, and project governance.
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to craft a clear project plan outlining objectives, scope, timeline, resources, risks, benefits, and budget.
  • Record and share project status, objectives, milestones, budget, and resources. Manage issue and risk tracking and resolution.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and project office to create clear roles and responsibilities within the project's organizational structure.
  • Collaborate with sponsors for ongoing effective project communication, including risk escalation when needed.
  • Adhere to project management office standards; establish new standards in their absence.
  • Create and package project deliverables for internal teams, steering committees, and stakeholders.
  • Own client satisfaction, manage peer-level relationships, and resolve challenges for mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Oversee IT project coordination and completion. Set deadlines, monitor progress, and report to upper management. Maintain relationships with teams, vendors, and departments.
  • Create project charters and plans to achieve business goals and data integrity.
  • Aid in developing recommendations, detailing resources, dependencies, policies, and methodologies for internal and external factors.


Must-Have:


  • Experience in a role requiring an understanding of eHealth technologies, such as Electronic Health Record systems, Electronic Medical Record systems, Hospital Information Management systems, etc.
  • Experience working in the Canadian health IT sector
  • Experience in a project or program management role.
  • Experience writing program/project related documents such as proposals, business plans, statements of work, RFPs, and strategy documents.


Desired Skills:


  • Experience leading complex (multi-stakeholder and multi-technology) projects.
  • Experience in a leadership role requiring the ability to work with clinical health care professionals (e.g., physicians, pharmacists, nurses, etc.).
  • Senior leadership experience working in the health sector (ideally Canada)
  • Knowledge of privacy and security issues relating to FOIP and/or Alberta's Health Information Act
