We leverage leading-edge geomatics data to provide high-cadence insights for risk insurance, forest management and carbon offset & compliance. Our advanced solutions provide customers with accurate data, facilitating optimized decision-making and improved ROI.


The Product

Our small but mighty Development team is currently building a DaaS/SaaS platform that provides fire risk intelligence by leveraging digital terrain models, satellite and lidar geospatial data, and ground-based fuel (trees and understory) data, in relation to assets (buildings, energy grids, pipelines, municipalities) on the ground.


The Role

We’re searching for a Senior Full Stack Developer to take a lead role in helping us build scalable geospatial applications, from conception to deployment. This is an opportunity to join a well-established company breaking new ground in the realm of geospatial software solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support continuous improvement by investigating new technologies.
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.
  • Test, troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Write effective APIs.
  • Translates business requirements from non-technical users into specialized geospatial desktop and web apps.
  • Serve as technical lead on projects and enhancements related to custom geospatial web applications.
  • Manage and implement security and data protection modes.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Skilled in the use of some or many of: Angular, React, Java, JavaScript, Python, NodeJS.
  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of front and backend web development, through all phases of the SDLC.
  • Experience working with AWS EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, EKS, and familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Lambda etc.).
  • Experience with multi-tenant cloud native applications.
  • Experience writing integrations with third-party APIs and developing REST APIs.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of, and experience with GIS frameworks and technologies such as OpenLayers, QGIS, PostGIS, GeoServer, GDAL/OGR, MapServer, Leaflet, Esri Leaflet, serverless GIS.
  • Design and development of web-services to support modeling, data collection and data visualization objectives, using Django, Java, GDAL, QGIS.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with WMS, WFS, WCS, WMTS and WPS web services of the OGC.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and using GeoServer.
