Senior Firmware Controls Engineer

I am working with a cleantech innovation company developing cutting-edge control systems and electric power conversion devices to better connect EVs with the wider Grid through the development of unique power inverters. They bring together a global team of world-class control software, power electronics and commercialization expertise. They are investing in energy solutions that will power a more sustainable and electrified future.

The company are looking for someone with extensive Firmware experience with experience developing inverters or different control systems to bring their expertise to the team as they grow and build the company going forward.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Research and evaluate new technology applications and conduct feasibility and de-risking studies
• Develop and execute design verification processes, FMEA, and product performance analysis to meet software and control specifications and regulatory compliance.
• Model and simulate control architecture using simulation tools such as Simulink, Matlab
• Design and debug high-performance, real-time control of electric machines with various peripherals such as communications
• Design the embedded system architecture

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven skills in real-time control software architecture – interrupts, and asynchronous architectures
• Proven skills in the real-time control software of electric machines inverters AND/OR Grid-tied inverters
• Deep knowledge of the dynamics of electric machines – a must
• BSC or higher in mechanical/mechatronics/electrical/software engineering
