Senior Financial Accountant Jobs

Our client, a leader in the Real estate Property Management industry, is currently looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Corporate Controller and working on a team, the successful Senior Financial Accountant will have the ability to work from home for part of the week, enjoy a competitive salary, a 35 hour work week and work-life balance with a hybrid working model.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Annual cashflow for fee generating enterprises.
• Creates journal entries associated with key duties.
• Monthly HST reports for all entities; fee generating, revenue producing properties, and land and housing development
• Mentors and shares knowledge with colleagues.
• Interest charge calculations on overdue accounts receivable.
• Journal entry creation (includes capital asset amortization and accrued bonuses).
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts including accounts receivable, capital assets, term deposits and loans payable.
• Manages accounts receivable for those assigned enterprises.
• Balance sheet account reconciliation.
• Reconciles loans and mortgages to third party loan statements.
• Ad-hoc reports
• Annual budget for fee generating enterprises.
• Corporate income tax returns for all entities
• Monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the fee generating enterprises.

Qualifications and Skills

• Post-secondary education or suitable professional training and experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 5+ years of finance or accounting experience

Nice to Have

• Exceptional capabilities in Microsoft Excel
• CPA Designated or close to completion
• Proven use of SQL and VBA or similar is preferred
