AIRM is looking for a Senior Data Scientist in the broad areas of computer vision and machine learning/deep learning. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in a related area with a demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research in computer vision and machine learning. A track record of high-quality publications is an asset.The position is for 1 year with a possibility for renewal.

The New Product Development team at AIRM is an innovative, and collaborative group of actuaries, data scientists, engineers and developers. We design, build, and develop products for use with IoT, ML & AI, and web. This opportunity is for someone excited for autonomy, ownership, and a breadth of responsibility. At AIRM, you will be part of a team that delivers new technology solutions, with a focus on driving investment in clean technology adoption for stakeholders in the agri-supply chain, providing support across the entire implementation cycle.

This position can be located at the head office in Winnipeg at 1-1000 Lorimer Blvd in Winnipeg, or we are open to an in-country remote work environment if outside Manitoba. We are seeking the most qualified candidate!

Role & Responsibilities

· Play a key role in the development and implementation of AI technologies.

· Provide guidance and leadership to the data science team.

· Work collaborative with the product design and leadership team to identify AI opportunities and envision, develop, and execute our product roadmap.

· Work within an Agile environment to plan and deliver work incrementally while also improving your designs through multiple design iterations.

· Implement large-scale software systems to generate insights and solve business problems using cloud-based platforms.

· Exemplify what it looks like to be a great communicator and collaborator.

Required qualifications include:

• Knowledge of image processing
• Industry experience an asset
• PhD (preferred) with a specialization in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
• Strong software development skills
• Strong mathematics foundation
• Soft skills, including communication, accountability, and the ability to work independently and embrace challenge
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with projects related to machine learning and computer vision

Job Type: Full-time, 1 year term position, with the possibility of extension

Experience: 5+ years of ML experience, including 2+ years overseeing ML-based projects and teams

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Salary: $88,228.92-$112,348.00 per year
