The Role
Some Things You'll Be Tasked With Are
As the Senior Applied Research Scientist, you'll join the passionate & mission-driven Perception team. The team is looking for someone with exceptional development/research skills in the field of Computer Vision and Deep Learning. A strong candidate will be an effective leader, a strong collaborator, and adept at operating in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Write maintainable, reusable code, leveraging test-driven principles to develop high-quality modules.
  • Support overall research, engineering, and architecture efforts of computer vision and machine learning components.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the research and development team within the Computer Vision group.
  • Research & development of advanced product-critical computer vision components such as instance segmentation, point cloud completion & mesh reconstruction. Just to name a few.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Expertise in Deep Learning/Computer Vision with specialization in at least one of the following domains: Object Detection/Instance Segmentation, 6DoF Pose Estimation (i.e. 3D object detection), Camera Calibration
  • 3+ years experience in Deep Learning with TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Extensive working experience in Computer Vision targeted to product development.
  • Proficient in Python, Open CV, & C++
  • Published in a top-tier CV or robotics conference (e.g. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICRA) or an AI conference with a relevant paper (e.g. ICLR, NIPS, ICML).
Education
  • Ph.D. is heavily preferred
  • MS in Computer Science or a related field
