As a Senior Applied Research Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in our research and development efforts in the fields of robotics and deep learning. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts to design and implement cutting-edge algorithms, models, and systems to advance our state-of-the-art robotic technologies. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere, but we encourage candidates in or near Toronto to take advantage of our office facilities for collaboration and occasional team meetings.
Responsibilities

• Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals to establish thought leadership in the field.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into practical solutions and contribute to product development.
• Conduct research and development in robotics and deep learning, with a focus on areas such as perception, motion planning, control systems, and reinforcement learning.
• Design and implement innovative algorithms and models to address complex challenges in robotic systems.
• Mentor and guide junior researchers to foster a culture of learning and innovation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotics, deep learning, and related fields, and propose new ideas and approaches to enhance our technology stack.

Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present research findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing complex algorithms and models in real-world applications.
• Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated track record of top-tier publications in reputable conferences and journals within the field of robotics and deep learning.
• Proven expertise in robotics and deep learning, with a focus on areas such as perception, motion planning, control systems, and reinforcement learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, ROS).

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is between $190,000 and $240,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
