Exchange Bank of Canada is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Senior Credit Analyst (Risk Management) to join their Risk Team!
Role Description: The Senior Credit Analyst - Risk Management will support the Senior Risk Manager to execute and embed the Risk Management Framework in EBC and its parent company Currency Exchange International (CXI). The primary area of focus is credit risk, including that related to the Spot and Forward product(s), but market, liquidity and non-financial/operational risks are part of this risk oversight role as well.
Essential Functions:
Credit Risk: 80% [CXI & EBC]
- Prepare (ad hoc and regular) reports, summaries and opinions on new, renewal and existing accounts for the Management Risk Committee meetings.
- Deliver meaningful, detailed credit analysis on a per-client and portfolio-level basis while providing efficient and timely service.
- Report to the Chief Risk Officer (or others as applicable including members of the Management Risk Committee) findings and reports that may have an adverse effect on a counterparty’s ability to meet obligations.
- Review customer files as needed to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with CXIs and the Bank’s credit policy.
- Responsibility for CXIs and the Bank’s credit policies and procedures; identification of exceptions to policy, and ensuring such are appropriately documented, approved and reported to the CRO.
- Effectively perform role as a Business Partner in advising, educating and responding to needs related to Credit risk arising in the lines of business.
- Ensure that all credit files are complete; identify any document deficiencies.
- Train members of the Risk Department.
- Complete a thorough, in-depth analysis of new credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews. Has the power of independent action, autonomy, and discretion in matters of risk rating and/or limit changes when analysis merits, and provide approval for those requests that are within the applicable Delegated Authority
Market, Liquidity and Non-Financial Risks: 10%
- Assist with (or in some cases lead) exercises to review and assess risks and controls for new and existing business activities, units, and/or products (RCSA)
- Identify, assess, measure, control and report on various risk types.
- Review and contribute to the development/enhancement of Governance documents and procedures/controls for various risk types.
TMS Management: 10% [CXI]
- Administer and audit credit limits on systems used (TMS/Integral, etc.) to ensure data accuracy and integrity of controls.
- Daily monitoring of margin account balances for clients actively serviced by the Forward product(s) and reconciliation with the client-facing FX trading platform(s), e.g. Integral
- Maintain the list of manual over-rides, exceptions and variance from Policies.

Required Education and Experience:
- The ability to speak French is preferred (not required)
- Ability to analyze financial metrics including cash flows, leverage, collateral and customer strength
- Well-versed with legal, compliance and market risk related issues
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit adjudication
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Statistics, Accounting or Finance, and expressed interest in pursuing specialty designation (e.g. FRM, CFA) or postgraduate Business Administration degree
