Senior Construction Engineer Jobs

What is the opportunity?
The Construction Engineer is responsible for the design and field review of temporary works required for transportation structures construction, providing site support during construction, and working directly with the contractor. Experience with shoring engineering on transportation related projects is considered an asset.
What will you do?

• Construction schedule planning.
• Review of work on construction sites is required
• Review construction estimation.
• Coordination with multiple design discipline requirements.
• Constructability review for transit projects.
• Construction sequence and stagging planning.
• Ability to attend and conduct presentations

What do you need to succeed?

• Clear understanding of the fundamentals of structural behaviour     
• Experience with TBM tunnel and SEM construction an asset
• Ability to work on both small and large projects of varying durations
• Experience on site and working with contractors preferred
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred
• Experience with large transit projects preferred
• Ability to explain designs and to work with others to develop the optimal design for the available resources
• Familiar with cut-to-cover structures, temporary shoring, utility relocation, construction staging analysis
• Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects on time
• Familiarity with MTO procedures
• Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in a clear manner, listen effectively and adopt and integrate ideas from other team members, including clients and contractors.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, with a professional engineering designation
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles
