Senior Clinical Programmer I is primarily responsible for activities related to programming and validation of data cleaning and review listings and sophisticated programs for ongoing clinical studies. This position requires high technical skills and adequate industry knowledge to independently perform the programming tasks while using judgement about seeking mentorship in sophisticated situations. Clinical Programmer will contribute to multi-functional initiatives with small to medium complexity.
Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include (but not limited to) design, development, implementation and validation of Power BI or dashboard applications
• Programs independently with efficiency and quality to process, analyze and report clinical trial data for review by clinical study teams
• Lead all aspects of completion of documentation associated with programming tasks to ensure activities and processes performed are conducted per standard operating procedures, guidelines and best practices
• Contribute to defining and building vital processes and tools to perform clinical programming activities for both global and study level analytical solutions
• Collaborates with various teams including data management, development operations, clinical, biometrics and other relevant multi-functional teams supporting clinical trials to deliver end user reporting needs
• Develop and maintain data visualization tools including requirements gathering, design, data provisioning, building dashboards, leading validation/testing activities and providing training
• Identifies and communicates risk within the assigned studies and/or projects
• Contribute to design, develop and implement small to medium complexity projects that are part of clinical programming roadmap
• Provide technical expertise, cross training and support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users
• Ensures high quality is built into own results and quality delivered by other programmers
• Contributes to development of best practices to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness within function
• Build and maintain catalogue of reports to aid data cleaning activities

Desireable Traits

• Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to manage complexity and change in a dynamic environment
• Experience in producing analytical dashboards with variety of BI tools, such as Power BI, Spotfire QlikView, Tableau etc.
• Broad knowledge of FDA regulations and GCP/ICH guidelines as related to clinical programming processes

Experience working with Clinical Data Repositories (clinical data warehouses, data lakes etc.)
Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI reports and application setup, integration and design in an on-premises and cloud environment using Power BI Desktop
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and translate them into meaningful visualizations Solid understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data visualization concepts
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, life science or statistics
• Create report measures and metrics using DAX

An understanding of SQL and R scripting

• Experience in both database concepts and design, particularly experience with Data Warehousing is recommended

Writing business requirements, technical specifications, testing documentation and user guides on developed products

• Ability to influence relevant collaborators
• Intermediate knowledge of clinical development process
• Good knowledge of industry standards
