Statistical Programmer Analyst Jobs

The Programmer is responsible for designing and maintaining study databases, as well as study reports. Must collect report specifications, program reports and associated graphics, and design a user-friendly report interface. Will test and validate all aspects of programs for accuracy and provide user support for report interface. Must set-up procedures for data import and export as needed. Must perform system consistency checks. Maintains and supports other programs, created by other programmers, as needed.

• Knowledge of DataFax would be preferred
• University Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
• Programming Languages preferred: SAS, Perl, Awk and Shell scripting
• Ability to learn quickly, detail oriented and willing do the tasks under timeline
• Demonstrated knowledge of SAS in the Unix environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of both the UNIX and Windows operating systems
• Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as the ability to work within a team environment

Unit Summary

The Population Health Research Institute (PHRI), a joint institute of Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University, with over 300 employees working directly with 60 researchers. PHRI conducts clinical research internationally in 101 countries and is a world leader in large, global health and population and health outcomes research. Our capacity to conduct multiple international studies concurrently, with tens of thousands of participants in each, is a capability very few organizations in the world can match.

Schedule Work Hours

Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours/week. This is a temporary position until August of 2024.
