Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Strategy, the Senior Enterprise Strategy Analyst will play a pivotal strategic role at Meridian by working closely with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with Meridian’s Enterprise Strategy and supporting corporate development / strategic partnership activities. This role may assist with facilitation of the strategic planning process to enable Meridian’s annual objectives as well as Meridian’s long-term sustained growth. The Senior Enterprise Strategy Analyst will leverage an incubation framework and support the facilitation of incubation of new ideas across the organization.
Your role as a Senior Enterprise Strategy Analyst, you will:
Strategic Planning:

• Drive and support Enterprise Strategy related research, as appropriate (i.e., market benchmarks)
• Support the annual strategic planning process and support lines of business as they develop supporting plans for meeting key growth objectives – this includes key activities involved in developing Board and Executive Leadership Team meeting agendas and critical actions
• Support corporate development & strategic partnership opportunities/pipeline
• Gather, analyze and provide lines of business strategic intelligence and insights on “Where to Play”, “how to win”.
• Support incubation framework execution

Strategic Initiative Development and Implementation:

• Complete quarterly environmental scans focused on strategic partnership opportunities and provide insights into which acts as a critical basis for the strategic planning process

Collaboration and Stakeholder Relationship Management:

• Support incubation of new ideas to stay ahead of change and competition
• Partner with other areas of the organization and/or external vendors to facilitate the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives

Performance Management & Board Reporting:

• Capture updates on progression of strategy against enterprise measures and balanced scorecard
• Develop and produce monthly dashboard reporting on Strategic Partnerships and Incubation opportunities
• Support preparation of reports to the Board on a quarterly basis

How you will succeed:

• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience, including one to three years in strategy development, corporate development and/or strategic partnerships
• Understanding of the cooperative credit union system
• Bachelor's degree in economics or commerce (or equivalent) required; Master’s degree in business would be an asset
• Experience in a strategy-consulting firm with a specific focus in the financial services sector would be an asset
• Financial Analysis, Business Casing and Project Management experience or certification
