Job Description

ROLE: Senior Accounting Clerk


Rock Solid Supply is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Accounting Clerk. We believe in putting the right person in the right seat! As a Senior Accounting Clerk of Rock Solid Supply, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial operations and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. You will be responsible for various financial processes and reporting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Submit invoices to customers through various channels, including dealer portals and via fax/email/mail.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner, including payroll related.
  • Manage VISA reconciliations.
  • Daily enter of key data of financial transactions in ERP system.
  • Manage monthly sales commissions by sending reports to the sales staff and processing commission payments.
  • Identify areas of improvement and assist in implementation changes.
  • Maintain organized records in secure location within RSS systems.
  • Handle HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) remittance and corporate tax remittance.
  • Assist with remittances to the Minister of Finance, including EHT (Employer Health Tax) and payroll remittances.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accrual accounts.
  • Conduct credit checks for new customers as required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP), and systems of internal control.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on administrative tasks relating to finance.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budget performance.
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned.
  • Address errors from subledgers as required.
  • Compile and submit reports to Statistics Canada, including the monthly manufacturing survey, when necessary. Other monthly regulatory reporting to provincial and federal agencies.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Ability to adapt to technology.
  • Experience with accounting software (Syspro experience is an asset).
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing systems (e.g., Ceridian) is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in senior clerk or related roles.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
