Residential Construction Project Manager

Alair Homes is the fastest growing residential construction company partnership in North America. Our locally owned and operated Parksville-Qualicum and North Island location is seeking applications from enthusiastic and motivated persons to fill an opening for a Project Manager in residential construction job sites ranging from Nanoose Bay to the Comox Valley. A competitive salary, performance bonus/profit sharing program and benefits package including vehicle allowance will be offered based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

· Providing excellent customer service to our clients with regular verbal and written communication

· Facilitating the design & planning process for custom residential construction projects

· Developing project scopes of work and budgets

· Collecting and managing trade and vendor quotes

· Making permit applications

· Project scheduling

· Ensuring job-site safety

· On-site supervision of tradespersons and laborer's

· On-time and on-budget project completion

· Client invoicing and collections

· Administrative management in proprietary project management software

Required:

· Minimum 3-5 years working experience in project management

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent client relations including effective listening skills and a positive attitude

· Attention to safety and working knowledge of BC WorkSafe requirements

· Proficient computer skills for using proprietary project management software

· Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

· Creative problem solving and priority management

· Works well in a team environment with multiple trade and market partners

· Own vehicle with room for materials. e.g. pick-up truck

· Willingness to grow with the team and meet the Alair standard of “Living Better Starts Here”

Preferred:

· Post-secondary education in construction management, skilled trades, or civil engineering may count towards experience

· Network of tradespersons and supplier contacts in the local construction market (Nanoose – Comox Valley)

· Previous hands-on labor and/or skilled trades work

· Occupational First Aid Certificate

· Complete set of basic hand and power tools

· Ability to work on feet most of the day and lift up to 50 lbs
