Senior Construction Project Manager

At SCC Construction, we are defining new horizons and we will not rest until everybody knows.We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who possesses a vast array of knowledge and experience in commercial interiors construction field to join our team.

Our ideal candidate is familiar with all aspects of construction and have the necessary skills and abilities for overseeing all aspects of construction projects, from estimating to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach Junior PM's by providing leadership and building project teams to ensure project milestones are met·
• Maintain regular communication with Site Manager (s), Clients, designers, trades, architects, and all other stakeholders for each project to ensure effective coordination of construction activities
• Monitor legal, contractual, financial aspects of construction projects, develop and implement actions to mitigate potential risks and challenges
• Lead and minuteproject meetings
• Communicate the projectplan including objectives and responsibilities to the team
• Manage all project documentation including permits and site notifications, pricing / approvals of RFQ's, POs
• Build and lead a strong project team that delivers profitable projects
• Oversee construction tenders and negotiations
• Create, monitor, and report on project schedules and costs, margins and profitability
• Develop long lasting client relationships by managing client expectations, ensuring construction activities are aligned with customer requirements and identifying opportunities for repeat business
• Performproject estimating, including subcontractor solicitation, through to subcontract buyout and contracting
• Prepare and review all construction cost reports and forecasts looking for early warning signs of potential risk and developing effective plans to overcome/mitigate
• Utilize Procore to set-up the projects, enter budget estimates and RFQs, maintain timesheets etc.
• Track project execution lessons learned and shared with the team for continuous improvement.
• Arrange for final City inspections, Building Occupancy permit and Notice of Substantial performance/completion ads
• Manage the project from start to finish (Pre-Construction, Construction and Post- Construction phases), if necessary
• Manage project accounting, billings, and receivables, including project billings and sign off, subcontractor payment certificates, service/work order billings and client invoices
• Manage projects to ensure they meet corporate goals for safety, quality, budget, schedule, and profitability

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and construction law
• Strong initiative, planning, and execution skills
• Demonstrated success building and maintaining long term client, consultant, supplier, and sub-contractor relationships
• 10+ years in a Construction Project Management and Commercial Tenant Improvement role with a general contractor (required)
• Diploma in Construction Management from BCIT or equivalent
• Restaurant construction experience is an asset
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent leadership, teamwork and team building skills
• Dedication and motivation to deliver high standards of service
• Excellent attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under pressure to deliver high-quality work
• Experience leading and mentoring project team
• Strong communication skills (verbal/written)
• Experience using Procore is an asset
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under pressure to deliver high-quality work
• Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
