Medical Record Technician
This is a position Entry Level position functioning as a Release of Information (ROI) Specialist and receptionist, performing the ROI functions in response to requests for patient health information (medical records) from patients & customers that walk into the department and need assistance at that time.
This position also handles a high volume of incoming calls each day. Position is located in a highly visible area within a local suburban hospital, with a business casual dress code and is scheduled for: Monday - Friday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm
Responsibilities and Duties
•Greeting customers and patients as they come into the department, assisting those with health information needs or questions.
•Handles incoming phone calls.
•Checking voicemail messages and returning phone calls timely.
•Verify the validity of medical record requests and accompanying paperwork, including POAs, subpoenas and court orders.
•Use hospital or provider systems to locate appropriate patient details.
•Respond to requests with the corresponding health information.
•Quality check information prior to release.
•Works within scope of position and direction; willingly accepts all assignments.

- Data Entry: 2 years (Required)
