•Checking voicemail messages and returning phone calls timely.

Demonstrated knowledge of health records management and best practices.

Five to seven years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Build on your education and career experience as you:

Maintains a current knowledge of FIPPA and other relevant FOI and Privacy related legislation, guidelines, standards and best practices.

Participates in ROI, FOI and other privacy projects, and in the development of documentation as directed by the Manager.

Demonstrated knowledge of electronic health information systems.

Certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM formally known as CCHRA)

Graduate from approved Health Information Management Program

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, decision making, problem solving and analytical skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft applications

Responsible for releasing patient information to authorized recipients while ensuring security of patient information from unauthorized requestors

Extensive interaction with external agencies, law offices, other hospitals, health care agencies, patients and their families

Performs supervisory functions to assist ROI Manager.

Knowledge of digital scanner systems.

Technical knowledge of computers and computer programs.

Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in the field of ROI or comparable experience.

Receive written requests for medical information and evaluate to determine if request is valid.

Provide clear direction, set goals, and ensure deadlines are met.
