Casual Registered Nurse I - Inpatients


(4 Positions)


Premium Travel Locum Assignment


Location: Labrador City, NL


The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the Labrador West Health Center. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Manager of Patient Services.


Qualifications


" Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with a Nursing Diploma or an approved University with a Bachelor of Nursing;


" Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador;


" Breastfeeding education/course;


" NRP, ACLS, TNCC and Medevac are considered an asset;


" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);


" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check;


Duties: (Included but not limited to)


" Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients including but not limited to: medical-surgical, obstetrics (pre-natal, labour and delivery {if currently trained}, post-partum), long term care, special care, mental health/addictions and pediatrics;


" Participates in the auditing process as required;


" Documents as per professional and organizational standards;


" Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;


" Participates in the orientation, mentorship and preceptoring of staff;


" Represents nursing on various committees as required;


" Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;


" Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;


" Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;


" Other related duties as required.


Salary


" If currently not trained in Obstetrics: NS - 28 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $33.64 - $41.65 per hour with a premium locum rate of an additional $25/hr. for hours working in the locum position. Locums must agree to work a minimum of fourteen (14) continuous days for this benefit to apply. Other applicable benefits will be paid in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement.


" If currently trained in Obstetrics: NS - 30 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $35.74 - $44.38 per hour with a premium locum rate of an additional $25/hr. for hours working in the locum position. Locums must agree to work a minimum of fourteen (14) continuous days for this benefit to apply. Other applicable benefits will be paid in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement.

Hours Of Work


" 75 hours biweekly; variable shifts.
