The Opportunity

Carewest Glenmore Park 1 East is a 36 bed unit offering short stay, intensive rehabilitation (daily or twice daily) for clients leaving acute care hospitals and/or who are requiring medical intervention not required in acute care hospitals (including but not limited to PIV or CVAD antibiotic therapy, NWPT therapy, intensive wound care, tracheostomy care).

We are actively seeking a RN who functions effectively in a fast paced, sub-acute rehabilitation inpatient setting. As a RN you are part of an interprofessional team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and Carewest Policies and Procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality client and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Carewest. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to client and family centered care, health promotion and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse education program.

Additional Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years acute care nursing experience within the last 5 years required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preceptoring or mentoring RN students and other staff
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
• Experience with following skills:LPNimmunizations, Intravenous, hydrations, blood transfusions, removing staples/sutures, wound management, nasogastric tube insertions, amputees, rehabilitation medicine, tracheostomy care and administration of medications. CVAD certification
• Knowledge of the following programs: Netcare, SCM, Connect Care.
• Nursing experience within the last 3 years in the following areas preferred: Acute medicine, surgical nursing, sub-acute program
• CNA certification in : GerontologyLPNGNC (C) , Wound, Ostomy and Continence WOCC (C), Rehabilitation CRN (C), Medical-Surgical Nursing CMSN (C),LPNPsychiatric and Mental Health CPMHN (C)
• Experience as team lead or charge.
