Quality Coordinator, 14-Month Term

Trouw Nutrition is hiring… We’re looking to add a Quality Control Coordinator to our team in St. Mary’s ON.

The QC Coordinator assists in assessing all materials, ingredients, and suppliers, contributing to Trouw Nutrition’s quality program in both the Livestock Feed and Companion Animal Divisions. This is a 14-month contract position, starting in September 2023. This position is on-site at the St. Mary’s facilities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE…

Working with other team members across all departments, you are responsible for sampling, and the registration of all incoming ingredients. You will also assist with updating Forms, SOPs & WPs within the Food & Feed Safety Management Programs to improve processes.

• Perform basic calculations on routine analysis so analysis can be reported quickly and confidently.
• Perform Hold/Release as necessary.
• Monitor the testing program for Ingredients and Finished Products.
• Using NIR technology, analyze ingredients and finished feeds for various nutrients.
• Prepare requisitions for samples sent to outside laboratories and ensure all proper documentation is included with the shipment.
• Communicate any potential quality issues. Review supplier documentation compared to the TN specifications.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:

• Experience in a feed manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency in MS office applications. Numerical accuracy / Mathematical aptitude.
• Post-secondary education related to Agricultural Studies, Quality, or Lab Technology.
• Strong judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.

KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS:

Are you comfortable working with minimal supervision? A self-starter?

• Focus on Process improvement/Continuous improvement.
• Software proficiency: fluent in Excel. Knowledge/experience with M3/MT, Engie is a real asset.
• Attention to detail is imperative!
