Quality Control Inspector

Our client is seeking Quality Control Inspectors to provide quality control support to the QC lead and project management team.

In the position of Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for Reporting to the QA/QC Lead, Quality Control provides assistance and direction to supervisors in the performance of inspections, tests and completion of documentation covering welding, mechanical, rotating equipment, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.

• Location: Fort McMurray, AB (candidates can fly out of Edmonton or Calgary)
• Employment Type: Contract (one-month)
• Rotation: 6 and 1 (12-hour shifts)
• Accommodations: Camp accommodations and flights from Calgary or Edmonton are included

You will be accountable for:

• Ensure all incoming and outgoing raw and fabricated materials meet quality standards.
• Ensure all QC/QA documentation is complete.
• Live the CIMS corporate values by demonstrating a professional and respectful workplace and promoting collaboration, innovation, and engagement.
• Ensure inspections and tests are completed and at standard.

A successful candidate:

• 2-4 years of related quality control and/or assurance experience.
• Ability to read and understand company procedure manuals and read the standards guide/manual to avoid inspection errors.
• ASME VII & IX – requirements for Boilers, Pressure Vessels, Welder Testing.
• Must be able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings in addition to GDT.
• ASME B31.1 – requirements for inspection of power and auxiliary service piping systems for electric generation stations, industrial institutional plants, central and district heating plants. (Boiler external Piping, Furnaces, etc.)
• ASME B31.3 - requirements for oil and gas transmission pipelines, processing piping and related steel structures
• CWB Level 2 is an asset however CWB level one will be considered with the following endorsements.

Working Conditions:

• Will be required to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• Must be comfortable flying to Fort McMurray, Alberta
• Will be required to work in a portable trailer on client sites with adequate lighting and temperature..
• Pre-access alcohol and drug-testing required
