Position Summary


The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the Development, Implementation and Control of all Field Inspections & Testing Plans. The QC Manager will be capable of and responsible for the understanding and interpretation of Client Specifications, ASME & National Board Codes and Worley procedures to perform all QC functions. The QC Manager will have the organizational freedom and the authority necessary to ensure program performance, handle nonconformance and initiate any corrective actions. The QC Manager will be responsible for tracking and reporting Quality KPIs on site and report to the Corporate QC team.


The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude; be computer literate in MS Office including Word and Excel; be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, team environment; have effective and amicable communicating skills; be comfortable mentoring Worley superiors and craft employees, field engineers, clients, etc. regarding inspection activities to the Quality Management System.


Reports To


The Quality Manager for Turnarounds will be part of the Worley Industrial Services LP team and report to the Site or Project Manager and functionally report to the Director, Quality.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Mentor /coach all field QC Leads, and Inspectors as required.
  • Management of the QC team and ensuring adequate QC resources based on workload.
  • Review the scope for welding requirements and initiate new WPS qualification as required.
  • Develop a QC organization chart and submit it for approval.
  • Monitor and audit sub-contractor’s QC files, including the QC manual.
  • Attend site-specific meetings as required.
  • Generate and close out NCRs.
  • Recruit and interview potential QC Lead(s) and QC Inspectors.
  • Single point of contact for ABSA.
  • Conduct meetings with the Worley QC team.
  • Ensure QC Inspectors have all required safety orientation and training required.
  • Review the scope of work to establish inspection test plans.
  • General support for all QC functions as required.
  • Ensure QC Leads and Inspectors understand their roles and responsibilities, including the Worley QC Manual and site-specific requirements.
  • Single point of contact for Site QA.
  • Plan and coordinate with NDE and PWHT sub-contractors.
  • Develop and deliver any QC-related training to QC personnel, supervision, and craft personal.
  • Manage turnover packages, monitor, and audit Worley QC files, including archiving of documents.

  • The Quality Manager will create and maintain a working relationship with client business and execution teams by sharing ideas and expertise during task execution and must also contribute by identifying and managing areas for improvement.
  • The Quality Manager must promote a culture of continuous improvement by actively pursuing opportunities to mentor; be flexible and be able to offer and execute adjustments with plans/schedules that may result in increased quality or productivity to create cost-saving opportunities for their client.
  • Develop and maintain an excellent and effective relationship with the client.
  • Act promptly to address and fix client concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate feedback to the client.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Working knowledge in all construction disciplines; Civil, Structural, Pipe, Mechanical, and Welding required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years as a QA/QC Lead.
  • Minimum CWB Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of field QA/QC experience required.
  • Having an Engineering Diploma would be an asset (WET, MET).
