Job Title: Quality Supervisor
Location: Mont-Royal, QC H4P 2K9
Duration: Full time Permanent
Job description
This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining plant quality systems to ensure compliance with regulatory laws – federal and local. Areas of focus will include identifying and achieving facility quality KPIs through appropriate remedial/preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will be actively involved in all internal and external audit and monitoring activities. In addition- this role will serve as a support to QCMS/ISO; The KHMS and HACCP functions will lead the development of new quality systems/programs throughout the facility and provide quality support/resources for key commercialization projects.
Key components of the role
- Facilitate plant sanitation.
- Follow up on non-conformities found and provide responses – if necessary. Review and approve minor change requests.
- Participate in the QRMP audit and assist in the development of procedures and follow-up of assigned corrective actions.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed to meet Kraft site/food safety requirements. Takes appropriate measures to ensure the successful start of the project.
- Train the site in good inspection procedure practices. Helping to ensure installation is a ready inspection at any time. Provide Quality / Sanitation support for the commercialization of the project.
- Support and/or direct quality functions as directed by the Director of Technical Services.
- SAP Quality Data Steward role and maintaining compliance.
- Responsible for maintaining/validating/continuously improving all laboratory tests and equipment.
- Ensure that all specifications/KPI/QCMS/KHMS/Golden Rules/FSSC/ISO/plans are maintained and updated/approved as required. Supports biannual plant validations.
- Active participation in planning- defining and directing the site audit control program to ensure compliance with all procedures and policies- GMP standards- Kraft Heinz requirements and regulatory laws - federal and local.
- Responsible for the detention of non-conforming products, maintenance of required documentation / and release of compliant products.
- Acts as a Quality Distribution contact and works with Distribution on Quality concerns/initiatives. Also assists with product disposal and safety items.
- Support investigations with the various teams to identify the root causes of incidents and implement the right corrective actions.
- Support all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits. Support audit preparation activities - accompany the inspector and complete the necessary reports and publications.
- Support the KHMS system and operational standards as outlined in the plant's responsibility list.
- Train-mentor and lead the site's QA and production team to ensure program objectives are met. Strong support to the QCMS/ISO coordinator of the site. Monitors and maintains the plant's QCMS/KHMS program by complying with current Kraft Heinz and International Audit (FSSC/ISO) standards. Facilitate and co-lead the cross-functional QCMS/QRMP team of the site and participate with the Kraft company to ensure the successful certification of the site.
- Supports and follows appropriate plant safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a quality and/or technical leadership role or minimum 4 years of experience in operations/quality/technical (R/D).
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Chemical Engineering- food or equivalent degree- of or equivalent experience.
- Successful candidates must possess a positive solution orientation with a focus on proactive preventative measures and team building.
- Must be able to work shifts on weekends and all required overtime. Fast and regular presence.
- Strong leadership-technical, communication and organizational skills required as well as attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of quality systems, procedures and policies is helpful. Manage multiple assignments - develop work plans and set priorities.
- Detail-oriented.
- Effective communication skills (oral-written and verbal).
- Knowledge of statistical processes.
