Qa Software Testing Consultant - Canada

The QA Software Testing Specialist will address the design, development and conduct the following:

• Interface with partner firm QA leads will be important as will alignment with the client’s QA oversight
• Test the data and document processing from source to destination to confirm that all transformations and enrichments have processed properly and the load to the destination application is effective
• The software testing is a key aspect of the role as the software provides complex source extractions, complex business-rules driven transformation and end-state loading to the destination software. As the ETL software is developed for each distinct business area, a key aspect of the role is the oversight of such software development testing.
• Solution Functional Integration / Unit Testing (FIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in adherence with solution design specification(s)
• Create test labs / scripts to cover:
• The QA Specialist will oversee the design of the tests, coordinate the conducting of the tests with team members, as well as actually performing a degree of the tests
• Responsible to track and manage test results through resolution and/or business acceptance sign-off
• Develops test strategy, plan and supporting work processes for both content migration and technology solution
• All processes will be conducted using the client’s testing management software (e.g. HPQC or other)
• - for the purposes of this job description the term tests, is inclusive of Functional Integration / Unit Testing (FIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of content migration and technology solution(s)
• Using the client test software (e.g. HPQC or other) and working closely with the content migration and technology solution experts on the team, establish clear and effective requirements as the basis for guiding test design
• Development and generation of reports on testing will be an important aspect of the role
• Testing of the specialized ETL software that will be used to extract and process enrichment and loading, as well as to load the enriched information to the destination applications; and

Requirements

• A good understanding of alignment tests with requirements specifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, as well as certifications in testing from QAI Canada and International Institute of Software Testing
• A proven background in leading testing on complex software
• 5 + years direct work experience in software development testing and QA testing environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Focused on efficiency and committed to delivering testing to scope to meet strict timelines
• A good understanding of the use of HP Quality Centre test software (or equivalent test management software)
• A strong team work ethic with commitment to ensuring overall team success
