Note: The 23FALL examinations will take place from DEC 7th - DEC 19th, 2023, 2023 and 23FW examinations will take place from APRIL 8th - APRIL 23rd, 2024 as scheduled by the Registrar in consultation with the Department.


Location: Sault Ste Marie, ON


Delivery Modes:

In-Person Instruction: class that meets in a classroom and/or laboratory at the scheduled time/day, with the instructor and all students present (synchronous).


Course Description

  • This is a problem-solving course in which an extensive treatment of differential calculus and an introduction to integral calculus is given.
  • Other topics will include: anti-derivatives; area under curves; indeterminate forms and l’Hopital’s rule.
  • The course covers limits, continuity and differentiation of functions including exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions.
  • Emphasis is placed on practical applications of the derivative such as graph sketching, extrema and related rate problems.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proficiency in differential calculus is required
  • Master’s degree in mathematics or related field with two years of subject matter teaching experience at university level.
