Note: The 23FALL examinations will take place from DEC 7th - DEC 19th, 2023, 2023 and 23FW examinations will take place from APRIL 8th - APRIL 23rd, 2024 as scheduled by the Registrar in consultation with the Department.

Delivery Modes:

In-Person Instruction: class that meets in a classroom and/or laboratory at the scheduled time/day, with the instructor and all students present (synchronous).


Course Description

  • This course is designed to enable students considering careers either in or dealing with small firms to examine realistically the characteristics, opportunities, and risks of this segment of industry. Cases dealing with a variety of operating problems at different stages of the life cycle of small enterprise, as well as with longer range matters such as defining the appropriate marketing niche and growth strategy; financing; building a management team; and planning for the future of the enterprise, comprise the focus of the course.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • A demonstrated commitment to teaching in a multicultural environment.
  • MBA, or MA Economics, or MA Economic Development, or Masters of Economics in another directly related area from an accredited university.
  • Five years working experience supporting SME startup and growth.
  • Within the last three years, relevant course and subject-matter experience in teaching and or practice at another accredited university.
